146. D is for Dragon and also for Lion Dancers

2011 Chinese New Year Parade in Vancouver, BC

Here are my favourite scenes of the parade: Junior lion dancers and a cop.



















Man, I'm hot, this lion's head is heavy

They appear to be tangled in the lion's tail

Lion head is back on.  Help is at hand.

He sorts them out
And they prance away!

Great post for the D Day! And it has been such fun to see the celebrations of the Chinese New Year from so many places! Colorful, fun photos! I love them! Hope your week (and year) are off to a great start!

First time at your blog, and first time on ABC. Lovely pictures, and the story told in pix with the young kids and the police officer, so great. Takes me back to my NYC days, where all cultures were celebrated with gusto!
