135. Smiling Sally's Blue Monday

Braised short ribs served on a Cornishware plate

I love blue and white pottery and pick up bits and pieces in thrift shops. It is always a thrill to find Cornishware. I love the cheerful, blue and white design.

What is your favourite blue and white pattern?

134. Shadow Shot Sunday

I like the contrast of the thin shadows cast by the twigs and the larger ones cast by the logs

133. Thematic Photographic - Curves

I am entering this photograph that I found it here  for the Thematic Photographic theme curves.  These curves are just beautiful.

The staircase is in the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida. It would be quite a surreal experience climbing those stairs without rails on one side.

130. Macro Friday

Iconic L'Air du Temps parfume flacon designed by Lalique in 1951
This bottle of scent used to be on my mom's dressing table, now the empty bottle graces mine. I still use L'Air du Temps.

122. Rednesday

Minimalist decoration in a jeweller's window
Red is the lucky colour for Chinese New Year.  Here are a couple of shop windows decorated with good luck red symbols.
Shop selling  "intelligent" toilets - despite the red decorations, a celebratory, festive feeling is quite lacking

These are chocolates, not fire-crackers

  • articulate and talented
  • ambitious and have a talent for making money
  • cultured, have excellent taste and beautiful manners
  • hospitable and attentive to others
  • gossipy but tactful
  • most compatible with those born in the years of the Sheep, Pig, and Dog

Ruby Tuesday
My World Tuesday
The Asian malls are decorated for Chinese New Year.  A great way to enjoy the festivities is to visit the malls in Richmond, BC to experience the sights, sounds and taste of this special time.  Richmond is part of the Greater Vancouver Regional District and is accessible by public transport.  Take the Canada Line to Aberdeen station and you are right there.

Happy New Year!
